Veysel Memiş, one of the leaders placing sustainability at the center of the transformation of Türkiye’s food industry, has once again been included in the “Sustainability Leaders” list prepared by Fast Company Türkiye, one of the most respected business platforms, confirming his consistent performance. Memiş entered the list at 37th place this year and received his award at a ceremony held at İş Kuleleri in Istanbul.
Veysel Memiş stated that the sixth edition of Fast Company Türkiye’s “Sustainability Leaders 50” study demonstrates that sustainability in Türkiye has moved beyond intention statements and into the axis of measurable impact and strategic transformation. He emphasized that they are proud to once again be included in this platform, which is evaluated by 39 independent jurors from Türkiye and around the world.
Memiş said:
“As Tat Gıda, while redefining sustainability across every link of our value chain, we are building a production model that is respectful to nature, data-driven, and inclusive. This meaningful recognition inspires us while also placing a greater responsibility on us to create higher impact. I would like to thank all our stakeholders who contribute value with us on this journey, and the jury who deemed us worthy of this prestigious list.”
“Tat Gıda is growing through three pillars of sustainability”
Stating that Tat Gıda’s sustainability strategy is built on three main pillars, Memiş said:
“Our sustainability vision is shaped around reducing our environmental impact, generating social benefit, and placing strong governance at the center of our corporate structure. In this context, we commissioned our 1.98 MWe solar power plant in Akçaköy, Yunusemre, Manisa in 2025. With an annual production capacity of approximately 3,800 MWh, this facility currently covers about 19.5% of our total energy consumption from renewable sources. With the second solar power plant under construction in Dinar, Afyonkarahisar, we aim to meet a significant portion of our energy needs from renewable sources. In line with the European Green Deal, we commit to reducing our carbon emissions by 55% by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2050.”
“We turn sustainability into a value-creation tool”
Veysel Memiş emphasized that they place digital agriculture applications and smart production technologies at the center of their sustainable growth strategy, saying:
“Through data-driven agricultural practices, we achieve maximum efficiency in water and input usage while also enabling a sustainable and scalable transformation in product quality. With this technology-enhanced structure, we transform sustainability and efficiency into a mutually reinforcing strategic force, designing the next-generation production model in agriculture today.”
He underlined that they see sustainability not as a cost element but as a value-creation tool, adding:
“In the coming period, our focus will be climate-friendly production, circular economy practices, and projects that increase social impact. As Tat Gıda, our goal is to become a company that shapes both today’s and tomorrow’s food system.”
